Re: OS 6.4 Experience on Legacy Hardware
Maybe try installing 6.4.1-RC1, and see if that helps. If it doesn't, you might need to try a factory reset.

Re: OS 6.4 Experience on Legacy Hardware
I also have a heavily modified Pro 6 (Q6600 and 4gb RAM) with 4x3tb running 6.4.0. No macs on this network so I dont know about the SMB shares on this one. And I had 1 freeze so far on this one since the update.
I appreciate the evolution in features of the OS, but we could definitely use some more stability.

Hi,
thanks.
I have tried both RC1 and RC3, but it didn't get any better. I did a factory reset with RC3 and that did the trick 🙂

Compared with 6.3.5 on a PRO 6: are the fans working equally well?

Thanks.
Unfortunately there are also less positive experiences:
There are maybe differences between a PRO 6 pioneer versus business edition???

Re: OS 6.4 Experience on Legacy Hardware
On my PRO 6 business edition with 4 disks, cpu = 33 degrees and system = 54 degrees in an 21-22 degrees room running for 12 hrs now.
Seems like there is a difference between 6.3.5 and 6.4.0.

Re: OS 6.4 Experience on Legacy Hardware
For me, in the heavily modified machine (Q6600, 4Gb RAM, exotic fans, etc...) 45 CPU, 60 System are normal numbers... The disks run between 32-42 degrees....
The fans vary from 900 to 1500 RPMs.
On the 'stock' Pro6 I have 1-2 degrees less on average... but heavily dependent on load. When the disks start the monthly balancing, it sounds like I have the Concorde in the house... 😄

Re: OS 6.4 Experience on Legacy Hardware
Question to the Netgear guys... where is the 'system' temperature coming from? As another mentioned before, my dashboard says I have 60C degrees, but I have no real world indication of such temperature.
