Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
Can't say I like the new OS6.
It just looks fancy but besides that it doesn't do the trick for me.
All the addons on the older OS worked perfect and now I regret that I have updated to OS6. (Plex, SabNZBD+, SickBeard, CouchPotato, Python etc)
even worse.. It's not possible for me to go back to the older firmware.
I've followed the "unofficial USB recovery" page but the USB-stick does nothing.
Tried multiple USB-sticks (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and USB3 32GB). It just doesn't boot to USB.
Guess I'm stuck with a expensive piece of crap 😞

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
😄 I have edited the file my self with text editor.
I've found out it was very easy to do!
changed the 6.0.5 to 6.0.7 in the top of the text and OS6 (OS6.0.6) accepted the file.
I now have 4.2.22 running again 🙂

Thanx for this tip, it also works fine on Ultra 2. Though, shutting-down now takes considerably longer, like from 10 sec. to +1min.
Is there a way to execute "ethtool -s eth0 wol g" command automatically every time before shut-down, like adding it in some of the files in /etc/rc0.d/ or /etc/init.d/ ?

Yes I have tried, it does not stick, at least not on Ultra 2 runing 6.0.6.
I have tried editing /etc/network/interfaces with:
post-up /sbin/ethtool -s eth0 wol g
post-down /sbin/ethtool -s eth0 wol g
,but non of the above stick... looks like this version of kernel does not work with my Marvell NIC 😞
Finally, I have got this totally ugly work-around: alias sdwn='/sbin/ethtool -s eth0 wol g; rnutil rn_shutdown'.

ok i found where it reads the temperatures.
/etc/sensors.d/rn2120.conf
Delete everything and add what you need from
/etc/sensors3.conf
Untested
Edit:
I edit it like this:
chip "coretemp-isa-0000"
label Core 0 "CPU Temp"
label Core 1 "Aux Temp"
chip "it8721-isa-0a10"
label fan3 "fan1"
label fan3 "CPU Fan"
Edit2: FAIL 😄

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
I am getting very slow FTP speed on 6.0.6. less then 30MB/s, was 90MBs+ when on 4.x. Anyone else seen this?
Edit: Now FTP died, can connect but I cant transfer files
Edit2: Only Filezilla? curte ftp works. But 3 max 30MB.
Edit3:
yesterday I moved FROM the NAS to a singel sata disk connected to stationary computer. Today I to the NAS. Just slow write speeds on nas?
Edit4:
Most problems were due to permission issues, resetting them via the web interface solved the transfer issues. The speed issue is not related to this

I seem to have a DNS Server running on my Pro 6. Anyone know how I can stop it?

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
In my readynas ultra 4 I installed os6 with 3 drives sins I nedded the 4th to backup. Now i poped it back in but it is not being added to the array. What could be wrong?
Is is it not possible to expand an array? I thought it was.

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
If you didn't clear your 4th disk before re-inserting it, it won't be destroyed automatically. You can go to the volumes page; switch to flex-raid mode (uncheck the X-RAID button); destroy any old volumes; then re-check the X-RAID button.

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
I am trying to setup PlexConnect. I have now fixed (stopped) the DNS proxy server starting by adding --nodnsproxy to connman.service but I also need to change the Web server port from 80 to 8080.
Anyone got any ideas?
/T
Ignore this -Found it in /etc/apache2
If anyone is interested works great with ATV 3.
