Ya, UI/UX isn't designed by an actual UI person, but random developers. The ReadyDATA UI has the shutdown button where you expected it, up by the logout button.
And the Logout button is pointless, doesn't even try to kill the active session, just an alert box to close the browser heh.

Thank you, and just for the record, I was not bashing the UI and the effort of developers to make this happen, just did not see the button.

On the whole I think it works well, there are a couple of things that are hard to find. Where to change the admin password (done under "profile") is one I ran across today.

Ya, power options should be near Logout. Admin password should be under Accounts tab (like RAIDiator).

If it's possible to use dual redundancy in X-RAID2 on OS 6 that would be great.
Hint: Try clicking the X-RAID button after you have your RAID6.

Does X-RAID2 dual-redundancy work like it does on 4.2.x (e.g. 6x2TB disks installed, replace four of the disks with 3TB disks and then the volume will expand)?

OS6.0.5 I have updated by "check for updates" button in 6.0.4 UI.
Fan-control I have updated by following the steps as described by glem @ http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=70133&start=255#p393886
and then editing the fancontrol file manually (just to tweak it a bit).
BTW, glem thank you.

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
So it seems that we now have a working solution for the fan issue, that's great!
Regarding the other problem (genie add-ons) the only solution is to use apt-get and then donate the amount to the developer?
I don´t mind paying for add-ons but I would prefer doing it from http://readynasxtras.com/ directly.

Yes, it does. Actually, it should be a little better than 4.2.x, because it does it all online without a reboot.

It would be nice to be able to do this from the start, instead of deleting the volume, creating a RAID6 volume, waiting for that to complete and then convert that to a X-RAID2 dual-redundancy volume. The old way made more sense. But I guess this will work for now.
I think I will give OS6 another chance this weekend too.

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
You don't have to wait for the RAID sync to finish before using it. You should be able to delete your RAID 5, create a RAID 6, and turn X-RAID back on within about one minute.

Last time I tried it the X-RAID was grayed out once I had a RAID6 volume.

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
Is there any way to convert to XRAID-2/RAID6 without losing the factory default shares and apps (PLEX for example)?
Going through a factory default is only giving me single redundancy on my 516 but I lose some of the defaults when I manually switch.
I've been playing on a Pro with OS6 and see the same thing.
Is there an easier way to get to dual redundancy?

Re: OS6 now works on x86 Legacy WARNING: NO NTGR SUPPORT!
An OS Re-install or installing the firmware over the top of itself should bring back the pre-installed apps after you create a new volume.
Deleting the data volume would delete all the shares on it including the apps share and the other default shares. I don't think I've checked but some of these may automatically be recreated as empty shares after creating a new data volume.

Good point. Do an OS Re-install following the instructions in the Hardware Manual for your 516.

Will do, thanks for the info.
I'm running 6 4TB WD Reds in the 516 and really want dual redundancy before I start migrating data.
