Problem installing wit RAIDar
Hello,
I just bought a a ReadyNAS RN102 with two disks but I'm having problem getting started.
The disks I bought are two 1TB Western Digital GREEN drives. I realized later that these drives aren't officially supported by RN102, but already too late to do anything about that now.
Now, the problem I'm having is that RAIDar says there are no disks installed in the unit (it does find the nas unit just fine). I doubt this is because the disks aren't in the official supported devices list, but I have no way of troubleshooting this problem.
The NAS seems to be powering on fine, but then just sits there with a blue blinking light.
Is there some way I can troubleshoot this? Can I install the unit some other way?

Re: Problem installing wit RAIDar
Ignore RAIDar for that. It is not fully compatible with the OS6 line.
What happens if you trigger a factory default (forces disk wipe and install).

Re: Problem installing wit RAIDar
Trying doing a factory default according to the manual. Not sure if it did anything though.
I can access the boot menu, and then cycle through the options with the reset-button. But when I choose the factory default option the power light will light up for a few seconds but then it will revert to just blinking as before.
RAIDar will still find the unit, but is still reporting missing disks.
Didn't get a manual when I bought the nas, but I did get a little note in the package that says I should go to http://readycloud.netgear.com to install the device. However, it says it cannot find any devices there.

Does the router show an IP address for the ReayNAS? If so, does it respond to Ping?

Re: Problem installing wit RAIDar
I would suggest trying a different disk.
Also make sure you properly inserted the disks (see the instructions in the Hardware Manual: http://downloadcenter.netgear.com/en/product/RN10200)
Your unit is not detecting any disks which suggests either the disks are not installed properly, the disks are faulty, or there is a hardware issue with the unit itself.
An easy way to confirm that no disks are detected (or that there is some other problem) is to attempt to boot the NAS normally and attempt to telnet in. If you get a login prompt then it is highly likely that no disks have been detected or you have corrupt root or something like that.

Re: Problem installing wit RAIDar
Thanks for the help.
Yes, the problem turned out to be that the drives weren't properly secured in the bay.
And yes, I will slap myself for this one.
