I have a 102 running 6.2.5. I had tried (multiple times and methods) to upgrade to 6.4 without luck. After the reboot it is back to 6.2.5 with no errors in the log file. I also tried installing the Netgear APP to deal with the checksum, but it would also not load.
Now I tried 6.4.1 with the same results. My other Readynas units have upgraded w/o any issues.
Any ideas out there ?
Paul

I got my PM from a Netgear Tech/Engineer. After a few back and forths, he remoted into my ReadyNAS and was able to force an upgrade.
Great support solving the problem. Hopefully he will get a hold of you and do same.

Re: RN102 will not upgrage firmware
Hi tec-man,
Welcome to the community!
Are you doing the automatic or manual Firmware update? Perhaps use a different computer or web browsers.
Kind regards,

Re: RN102 will not upgrage firmware
If that does not resolve it, have you checked the contents of initrd.log?
Does it show that the update failed?

Re: RN102 will not upgrage firmware
I have tried both manual and auto updating. Also the log shows rebooting and background task starting. No errors of any type.

Re: RN102 will not upgrage firmware
Hi Tec-man,
It is very likely that you are experiencing checksum issue that is resolved in 6.4.0+. To get you on the latest firmware version we will need to look into doing this workaround here ReadyNAS OS 6: RN100/RN2120 cannot update due to invalid checksum
With out seeing your logs I would assume this is the problem. If you download your logs and look at the initrd.log file it should confirm this issue.
Let me know if this helps,
AlexPe

When I try to run complete-flash-update_1.0_armel.deb as prescribed by Netgear for the problem I get:
[15/12/08 18:47:10 EST] err:system:LOGMSG_APPLICATION_ADD_FAIL Failed to install application 'complete-flash-update_1.0_armel.deb'.
Any ideas ?

Re: RN102 will not upgrage firmware
Do you have a backup of your data?
At this point, I would suggest backing up your data, doing a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) and trying the procedure for the problem again.
