Re: RN104 update 6.2 can't create new share
You'll need to schedule a balance for your volume, under System -> Settings -> Volume Schedule.

Re: RN104 update 6.2 can't create new share
I tried to create a balance (what does it do for me?), but it returns an error code: Error in commitdba.
My problems getting more worse. The purpose of the mashine is runnig backups now they fail with the message: destination is read-only. The user credentials used for the backup has enough rigths, I can create and delete files in the destination share. I tried to reset access right by web front end; it false to......
Error backup job 'NAS1 daten': destination is read-only.
-------- Backup Job Information -------- Backup Job Name: NAS1 daten Backup Job Type: Incremental
Protocol: cifs
Backup Source: [remote:cifs]///nas1/daten Backup Destination: [daten]/ Backup Start Time: Sun Dec 7 2014 0:05:11 Backup Finish Time: Sun Dec 7 2014 0:05:27 Backup Status: Fail: destination is read-only.
ReadyNAS Alert Message (nas2 Share: Error)
Failed to change permission and ownership of the share 'daten'.

Re: RN104 update 6.2 can't create new share
All the space on your volume has been allocated. Space can be allocated to e.g. data and metadata. When the allocation for data or metadata is getting full, the allocation is increased using unallocated space. However when there is no space left unallocated then the allocation cannot be increased. One of data and metadata may have plenty of free space while the other is full. A balance can be used to fix this.
However now it appears perhaps your volume is going read-only which it can do when it is very full.
Is there some data on the NAS you would be willing to delete?
Is your NAS used for primary storage or just for holding backups of other machines?
I notice also that you last did a factory reset on 6.1.4
In 6.1.5 the nodesize and leafsize for new volumes was increased to 32768.
If you can backup your data, do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) and restore your data from backup that would be good.
