Yesterday upgraded to 6.7.4. upgrade apeared to install ok. Messages arriving via email as expected. Last message received was at 9pm "The system is shutting down." System restarted on its own this morning as configured. When I arrived the fan was running at high speed and no lights were on. Unable to do a graceful shutdown. Foced a shutdown by holding power button. Restarted and it goes through a few motions and then stalls with power light on and fan running at high speed.
Attempted USB recovery tool. USB "stick light" flashes a bit, then system seems to stall with USB "stick light" on steady. No other lights on.
Attempted to access boot menu with no success. Same resuly - power light on and fan running at high speed.
No contact via RAIDar.

I've sent you a PM. I'd like to have a remote look at this system.

Re: RN312 major problems after 6.7.4 - will not boot.
O.K.
This is the same problem we've seen with ARM a while back (since fixed for ARM).
A USB Boot Recovery key with no partitions on it, so when we look for the first partition on it to mount to look for the firmware etc. we're unable to so USB Boot Recovery fails.
Fortunately after replacing the initrd.gz and kernel on the USB Boot Recovery key:
https://www.readynas.com/contributed/mdgm/r6usbboot/latest/initrd.gz
https://www.readynas.com/contributed/mdgm/r6usbboot/latest/kernel
It was able to boot into a mode where I could remotely look at it.

Re: RN312 major problems after 6.7.4 - will not boot.
Had the exact same problem on Monday morning. Found a solution earlier today. Used Rufus to format the USB for recovery. Now back to normal. The people at the call center are very pleasant but should update their scripts. Would have been back up Monday afternoon if I had read the right post sooner.
