RN4220 non responsive on network. how can I get to console or admin page to see what's up?

Our RN4220 was acting slowly recently so I rebooted it (power off via 3 presses of power button).  I seems to have come back up, but now I can't access it over the network at all.  There were no indicators that there was a hardware problem.  No red/orange lights, all network link lights and Disk status lights are green.

I tried connecting to the console port on the back using PuTTY and a USB to serial cable using some default baud settings (COM10,9600,8,1,no parity, xon-xoff) but couldn't get anything to show up.  I can't find any details about whether that port will even work or what is needed to connect.

Can I use the console port somehow and if so what do I need?

Also, is there any safe-mode that will bring up the Admin interface on a default network IP or something?

Thanks!

You can boot up in tech support mode, and then connect with telnet (not ssh). No GUI, you'd be limited to the linux command line.

Log in as root, the password is infr8ntdebug

The disks won't be mounted (neither the data volume or the OS partition), so you would need to do that manually.  This command is what is normally used to start RAID, mount the OS partition and chroot:

rnutil chroot

Does RAIDar find it?  If not, try booting without the drives and see if it does.  NOTE:  Don't re-insert any drives with power still on.

You should be able to see the unit boot via the RS232 console connection.  The correct baud rate is 115200.  Installing a video card is another option.

Have you tried other network connections, assuming you didn't disable them in the OS?  If you've been using the 10GbE ones, using as 1G will utilize other hardware.
