RN626X: How to setup a VPN connection
I'm trying to establish a remote connection to my RN626X using VPN or equivalent. Need a secure connection over the Internet so that I can access my files on a Macbook in Finder as if they are on the local Macbook drive. Seems like running 'ReadyNAS Remote' on the Macbook is appropriate, but I can't find how to enable the associated service on the RN626X itself. Any help greatly appreciated.

ReadyNas Remote is not compatable with OS 6, you need to be looking at ReadyCloud

Re: RN626X: How to setup a VPN connection
Try this VPN https://www.zerotier.com/download.shtml. It is not too bad solution.
You need
1. register your virtual ethernet on https://my.zerotier.com/
2. setup zerotier one on NAS over SSH:
~# curl -s https://install.zerotier.com/ | bash ~# zerotier-cli join your_network_ID ~# service zerotier-one start
3. confirm your virtual NAS IP in https://my.zerotier.com/
4. setup zerotier on your MACbook PC
5. confirm your virtual MACbook IP in https://my.zerotier.com/

Re: RN626X: How to setup a VPN connection
There is also a ZeroTier ReadyNAS App that includes a GUI: ZeroTier1.1.14-nt3. It is a bit of an older version and the developer has gone missing since December. But I'm still using it. See also this thread: ZeroTier-and-the-ReadyNAS.
