RND-4000-200EUS - almost Almost working

Hi there, just picked up 2 of these with a fault (I think). When you plug the power lead in (with no drives present), the unit lights the power button, and starts going through a block progress bar, but stops at 2 blocks and appears to shut down. Is this normal, or is it something else, like the power supply?
Any ideas?

Actually, ended up buying a power supply and adapter. Could have bought a power supply with 4-pin on the end, but wanted the flexibility of using the power supply elsewhere should the problem not be the power supply.

They should stay powered, and RAIDar should detect them with a status of "no drives".
It could be the power supply, but it possibly isn't passing the power up self-test.

Re: RND-4000-200EUS - almost Almost working
I forgot to mention, I haven't any drives to put into the unit yet, and it wasn't connected to either USB or ethernet, so could that also be an issue? If it is the power supply (the external brick, I presume), does anyone know of somewhere reasonable to obtain a replacement (I heard on one forum that some synology power supplies are compatible)?

So, what would you suggest, capacitor check inside for blown electrolytic capacitors and replace as necessary, or adaptor replacement?
