RND2000 admin password issue
Hello all,
I have an issue which has been annoying me for nearly 6 months now. My admin password has been changed to something random probably due to me using the 'password recovery' feature of the nas.
The first issue is that when the nas says to have sent me the password, I receive no email (yes I check spam and junk folders).
The second issue, and this is what really grinds my gears, the firmware reboot does not work! I have tried using the poorly written instructions on this website, and walked through the procedure with a netgear tech on the phone, when I turn on the NAS while holding in the button and pressing in the reset button at the back, the light immediately flashes constantly as it does during a normal boot.
I have tried this procedure nearly 10 times and it is not working.
So basically I am completely screwed, does anyone know what I can do to get around this?

Can you put your NAS in tech support mode (see the instructions in the hardware manual: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/Duov1_NV%2Bv1_HW_en_06Dec11.pdf)

Hi Mdgm,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Those instructions appear infinitely better than the instructions written in the FAQ. I will try again using this new information, and if the problem persists I shall try to get it in to tech support mode.
I will post an update when I am able to do so.
