Fixed it
I went onto Control Panel / User Accounts and selected Manage Credentials on the left hand side
Under Windows Credentials I created a new credential with the NAS Name mine is NAS-F9-0D-A6 User RoysLaptop which is the computer name I left the paswsword Blank
I can now connect and have been able to map the drioves that I need.
all fixed and workign perfectly EXCEPT after having doen that I had to enter the credential uername before I could acces the Mapped drives that had already been in use. Still only the once and ir covered all three drives.
I'll markl it solved.
Thanks for the help along the way.

Re: Ready NAS RNU4000 connect a new Laptop User account not authorised.
Is the username on the NAS the same as the user on the PC or the PC computer name?
Which OS are you running on your laptop?
Which firmware version on the NAS?

The username on the NAS can't be the same as the computer name on your PC.
