ReadyDR Not ready for production
So, in the we must add work to our customers... we are having to switch from ReadyNas replicate (cloud based) to ReadyDR which has no cloud broker.
Things that really should be addressed:
1) There should be an option for cloud broker to make it easier to setup. Not that I love cloud brokers, but for the less than technical people it will provide an easier way to do this.
2) Reporting is super not good (replicate wasn't great, but there was some good parts on it). So I ReadyDR from one 526 to another. It took 8.5 hrs to do 3 TB of data, which is 98 MB/sec over my gig link... about what I expect. But with the setting set to 'On completion send' send status and errors, I would expect to get an email saying, it was done and this it the data I sent, and this is the speed, and that it was a success or fail... yeah, nothing is what I got. I also have not received a message since I did the start initially and it has run several times.
3) Bandwidth limits - provide the capability to say from x-y time only do this, for all other times do that. IE, during business hours don't bag the internet, but when I am not here, go to town.
4) When looking at the job and hovering over the status, give us an idea on how much data is to go and the speed, and i mean you can take those two numbers and give us an eta that you think it will be done.
Now one thing I like: Seeding - this is super good. What I don't like about seeding is that I am going to have to go to all the clients we currently have this setup with and already seeded to redo the backups.
Thanks!

Re: ReadyDR Not ready for production
These sound like good suggestions to me. You should repost your feedback in the idea exchange
Note that Netgear did extend the replicate service through the end of 2018 (for existing users), so you do have more time to work with.
