ReadyNAS 102 crashes during backup

Hi

The USB is formatted as ext4 and I create a backup job via the GUI. Firmware is 6.6.1

I start the backup job and the whole unit freezes. Its done it twice so far and the only way to bring it back to life is the power off/on the NAS. Don't want to risk it 3rd time now I'm worried it will corrupt something

Wed Jan 25 2017 8:37:54    System: The system is rebooting.
Wed Jan 25 2017 8:32:45    Backup: Deleted backup job BACKUP.
Wed Jan 25 2017 8:31:48    System: ReadyNASOS background service started.
Wed Jan 25 2017 8:31:43    System: ReadyNASOS service or process was restarted.
Tue Jan 24 2017 15:57:10 Backup: Error backup job BACKUP: destination is read-only or files/folders could not be created. Check if these files or folders meet the destination file system limitation.
Tue Jan 24 2017 15:52:04 Backup: Added backup job BACKUP.
Tue Jan 24 2017 15:49:20 System: Format Complete.
Tue Jan 24 2017 15:49:06 System: Format started.
Tue Jan 24 2017 14:33:25 System: External storage device connected.

Re: ReadyNAS 102 crashes during backup

Hello wineglass,

Can you access the files stored to the USB when it is plugged in to the NAS and when it is not? Maybe you want to try other USB ports of the NAS.

Regards,

Re: ReadyNAS 102 crashes during backup

hi JennC

Yes the files are accessible

The backup crash again yesterday:

Backup Job Name: MMDATA
Backup Job Type: Full
Protocol: local
Backup Source: [MMDATA]/
Backup Destination: [USB Front]//MMDATA
Backup Start Time: Wed Mar 8 2017 20:05:02
Backup Finish Time: Wed Mar 8 2017 20:12:43
Backup Status: Fail: destination is read-only or files/folders could not be created. Check if these files or folders meet the destination file system limitation.

It's going longer and copying more files though

The MMDATA on the USB is ~7gb where the source location is about ~250gb

The only way is to make the unit accessible is to power off/on the unit

Please try using the back USB3 port instead of the front USB2 port.

Re: ReadyNAS 102 crashes during backup

Hi Skywalker

I have plugged it at the back in the top usb. Will alter backup job and schedule a manual backup job tonight

Thanks
