ReadyNAS 202 backup: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
Hi all,
A backup task fails for my RN 202: unable to mount source. Task previously worked fine (around beginning of september). I update firmware to 6.9.4 which might be related?!
whenever testing the connection in the settings for the backup (on the source-tab pres button 'test connection' (maybe not the exact caption, I use dutch) a error code 7077010020 is returned.
Name field in the source tab is : 'remote Windows/NAS (timestamps)'
Your help is kindly appreciated.
Han

That is the protocol used to access the source - it is not the source itself.
What device is the source? Apple PC, Windows PC, something else?
Are you accessing it by hostname or IP address?
Did something change on the source device or the network?

Re: ReadyNAS 202 backup: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
Hi Stephen,
The source is a WindowsPC, accessing it via the hostname.
I am not aware of any changes on my WindowsPC.

Hi Stephen,
Using IP address didn't change anything.
Hope you have other suggestions.

Re: ReadyNAS 202 backup: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
What version of Windows are you running on the PC?
Can the PC access the NAS?
Is the source an administrative share (ending in $)?
Is the backup using guest access, or are you specifying a user/password?

Re: ReadyNAS 202 backup: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
myToshiba laptop runs on Win 10 pro.
I can indeed access the NAS from the laptop. I can access it for instance via Explorer, where the NAS is accessible under Network. And I mapped the NAS shares onto several drives.
The source, as specified in the path field, doesn't end on $
I use a specific user + password to gain access.

Re: ReadyNAS 202 backup: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
Do you have another PC that you can use to confirm access? That is, use file explorer to access the same share on the toshiba laptop.

Re: ReadyNAS 202 backup: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
Hi Stephen,
Didn't found time to check your last suggestion up until now.
However, I just noticed one of the backups that where scheduled succeeded.
And manually starting other backups right now also succeeded.
Thank you very much for your support.
