ReadyNAS 214 Problem with shares and volume
Hello. I have a problem with RN214
RAID10 created from 4 disks
A single volume (arhiv) was created. Various backup copies via samba were copied to it over the network. There were 4 public resources.
For no reason, volume became readonly, and two of the four shares no longer display files (It was not visible through the network or from the web interface)
After the reboot, the volume became "inactive or dead"
There are no backups, since RN was the backup repository.
How to extract my DATA?!

Re: ReadyNAS 214 Problem with shares and volume
I suggest downloading the log zip file, and send a private message to one of the mods ( @Marc_V or @JohnCM_S ) asking them to analyze it for you. Send a download link to the log zip in the PM. Note you send a PM by clicking on the envelope link in the upper right of the forum.

I'm confused by this statement. If the RN was a backup, then you should have copies of the originals on other devices. Are you saying the RN is being used by others for backing up their data?
In any event, options for data recovery should be more clear after the log file analysis. Netgear does offer a data recovery service ( https://kb.netgear.com/69/ReadyNAS-Data-Recovery-Diagnostics-Scope-of-Service ). ReclaiMe software can also be used ( https://www.reclaime.com/ ).

Hi der_violette_ig,
Welcome to the Community!
You can send to me the logs so we can check what caused the issue. You may upload it to Google Drive then PM me the download link.

Re: ReadyNAS 214 Problem with shares and volume
Hi der_violette_ig,
Upon checking the kernel.log, it is showing that there are filesystem errors:

You may try booting your NAS to Volume Read-only mode and see if you can access your data. You may check this article for the steps on how to access the boot menu and select the Volume Read-only mode.
If you are still not able to access your data on that mode, it will be best for you to contact NETGEAR support so they can assist you on data recovery (https://kb.netgear.com/69/ReadyNAS-Data-Recovery-Diagnostics-Scope-of-Service). You can also use ReclaiMe software as @StephenB has suggested.

Re: ReadyNAS 214 Problem with shares and volume
I connected via ssh to my repository.
Used:
btrfs-find-root / dev / md127
result:
Superblock thinks the generation is 102328
Superblock thinks the level is 1
Found tree root at 1090846720 gen 102328 level 1
Well block 1078263808 (gen: 102327 level: 1) It seems good, but generation / level doesn't match, want gen: 102328 level: 1
Well block 1068498944 (gen: 102325 level: 0) It seems good, but generation / level doesn't match, want gen: 102328 level: 1
Well block 1066860544 (gen: 102325 level: 0) It seems good, but generation / level doesn't match, want gen: 102328 level: 1
Well block 1066041344 (gen: 102325 level: 0) It seems good, but generation / level doesn't match, want gen: 102328 level: 1
Then launched
btrfs restore -iot 1090846720 / dev / md127 / mnt / recovery2
Everything is good, most of the files flowed to the target device, however, when restoring one important folder, the following error appeared:
bytenr mismatch, want = 25947000668160, have = 16015409443164326845
Error searching -5
Error searching / mnt / recovery2 / fileserver
“Fileserver” is the name of this folder. Leaving her empty recovery continued
Please tell me what you can do, how to return and still pull out this folder.
There were 4 total folders:
1.fileserver
2.Mail
3.sav
4.sql
So far, all are restored except the fileserver

Re: ReadyNAS 214 Problem with shares and volume
Try with different -t values, start with: 1078263808 and then try the others (1068498944, 1066860544, 1066041344). If still no luck, dump more roots by running:
btrfs-find-roots -a /dev/md127
Note however that this may take a long time.
You may also want to try to use regex feature to specifically pick out your fileserver directory.. Just a question, was it a share created on ReadyNAS or a subdirectory? If it's a share it will also be a btrfs subvolume (ReadyNAS created shares are actually btrfs subvolumes) so we can run btrfs restore directly on just this path without needing regex.
