ReadyNAS 314 v6.2.0 - New Schedule Tasks - advice please?
Hi, I have upgrade to v6.2.0, and there are now some new "Volume Schedule" tasks, could I have some advice on these?
Scrub: I believe this does a data verification on the disks, am I right? How often should I schedule it?
Defrag: This does defrag, but I thought Linux systems didn't need defragging? Again, how often should I schedule it?
Disk Test: Assume this is a physical disk check (like checkdisk?)? Again, how often should I schedule it?
Balance: What does this do? How often should I schedule it?
I also notice a "Power Timer" section under "Power", what does this do?
Thanks.
Jonathan

The power timer has always been there, it powers the Nas on and off depending on the times you select. Note than you can click on the column and row labels to highlight all cells in that column or row respectively.
If you have snapshots enabled, make sure it's on at midnight.
Back it up. Use UPS.
