ReadyNAS 516 Stops on Booting
We have a ReadyNAS 516. It is probably 8+ years old, and I believe it's running RIAD 5 with 3 hard disks. (It's been a while since I had set it up.)
Several months ago, after being shut down for a few weeks, I went to turn it back online, and the volumes were gone. I was able to access the GUI; a few screenshots are below. The error stated, "Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1"
Now, the system freezes while booting; the LCD stops at "Booting..."
I ran a disk test, and it stated, "Found bad disk 1".
I replaced disk 1 with a newer drive (slightly larger capacity), but still had the same result.
I tried to reinstall the OS. and it just stops at "Booting...99%"
We are not sure what else to try. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Do you have a backup of the files?
Just replacing a bad disk isn't enough to remount a failed volume. Download the full log zip file from the web ui, there is a lot more information in the logs on what has gone wrong.
If you need help interpreting the logs, you can send me a private message (PM) using the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page. Put the entire log zip into cloud storage (Dropbox, google drive, etc), and put a link in the PM. Make sure the link permissions are set so anyone with the link can download.

Sorry, answer to your first question. I ran backups to an external drive. However, it did not back up the most important files (the family photos) for some reason...

Unfortunately you have two failed drives - I gave you more details in the PM I sent you.
