ReadyNAS Duo and DLNA scan

Hi,
I have a ReadyNAD DUO which is playing up again...never ending story!

When I selected to run a scan on the folder/update the database it never ends. It has now been running for 3 days solid and only found 4 movies out of many. I've tried to update the firmware but I am running the current version. I don't want to have to reset factory settings again as it sets me back days.

Has anyone seen this problem and have a solution for me?

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and DLNA scan

Usually the problem is the system can't detective all the media files because when it scan to a special file then stuck on it... My suggestion is check the files thta can be found, the next one probably be the special file( the files order in alphabetical). remove it and have a rescan to see what happen.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and DLNA scan

Download your logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs), extract the zip contents and take a look at upnp-av.log

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and DLNA scan

thanks for your reply, I tried that but there was nothing obvious. I am now looking to reset the device to the same status that it was when I bought it from the store.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo and DLNA scan

Cloud is correct, this is likely a file that ReadyDLNA is tripping over. Resetting the Duo to factory default is not likely to help, what you need to do is find the file that is causing the problem.

There is a debug mode for ReadyDLNA that would help you isolate the bad file.
