ReadyNAS Duo - have I bricked it?
Hi, I bought a ReadyNAS Duo and put in a used WD green 2TB into it.
On boot up, RAIDar said it has got a corrupted root.
So, I went to perform a TFTP boot by downloading the tftpd.zip file as described in the wiki.
I connected my XP laptop as 192.168.125.1, disabled all firewalls / antivirus, and connected the nas directly and issued a tftp boot sequence. I saw that it downloaded initrc, kernel.conf and the raidar4. files, and I waited for like 30 minutes when the thing was blinking slowly with blue lights on the power button, and it only had two weak green LED on the HD1 and 2. The fan was blowing full speed.
This went on for another half an hour - absolutely nothing going on. I lost patience and unplugged it.
Now when I power it up, no blinking lights, none of the lights went up even I press the power button during boot, the fan is blowing full.
I tried to press the reset button pin and power on, nothing worked. I had to unplug power from the box to get it stop.
I tried pulling out the drive before power up, still the same problem.
So, have I bricked it? Can it be fixed?
Thx Kai
P.S. I logged a ticket with support - 18875430

With that description I would try one more step. Pull out all the drives and try booting it in tech support mode. If you can get it through the boot menu it may be repairable with that ticket.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo - have I bricked it?
Thanks. I tried to boot into tech support mode but also couldn't get through.
When I press the reset pin while pressing the power button, no lights were lit (except for the short 0.1 second blink when switch on). So I was unable to time that 3rd flash. It didn't even give me a flash.
What's the next step?
Thx Kai
