ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

I don't recommend 4.1.9 due to an ownership issue. That's why I suggested deleting that.

What's the output of the following?:

# dd if=/tmp/RAIDiator-4.1.10 skip=1 | md5sum

Good.

Well you could try

# echo /tmp/RAIDiator-4.1.10 > /.cf_update_in_progress
# reboot

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

If all goes well the 4.1.10 update should take place now. Just wanted to make sure you had a good copy of the firmware update.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

Nope, it doesn't look like it has. It seems to have just rebooted as normal and that's it.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

The first command went in immediately. Then I typed reboot and it rebooted as normal.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

See the file /.cf_update_in_progres ? Like I suspected you make a mistake entering the command. There should be two s's in progress.

Yes, I just realised - missed the 's' out:

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

The unit would also come and go from RAIDar (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20684/). If you use RAIDar quick enough you should see updating (or something like that) in the Info (far right) column.

It's done but if I hit the rescan on RAIDar it still shows 4.1.6.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo won't update with latest firmware

Very odd.

Can you do

# cat /etc/raidiator_version
# cat /var/log/raidiator_version
# ls -la /

Do you see more examples of this?:

If I run RAIDar, I can see 4.1.6 as the version number. And yes, I still see those messages about the flash device being unknown.
