ReadyNAS Pro 2 - Corrupt root, but drives appear to be fine.
I have a ReadyNAS Pro 2 which is currently inaccessible. It will appear in RAIDar and show IP and MAC, as well as two drives with green checks, but under Status it says "Corrupt Root".
It also appears to have reset its IP address to the default. While not insurmountable, it makes it annoying trying to trouble-shoot as I have to switch the IP of my network card to do so. (Although it shows up detectable in RAIDar even when my IP is on the office IP).
I saw another thread which suggested rebooting the drive into the boot menu and selecting "Skip Volume Check" in order to access the volumes and pull data off, but even that didn't allow me to access the drive or the web administration.
I'd very much like to not reformat the drives so I'm wondering if there are any other suggestions out there on how to either: A - Restore the status of the drive and make it accessible again
B - At a minimum make it accessible so I can pull the information off of it and reformat.
Any help/suggestions at this point are requested and appreciated. Also appreciated if you can tell me how to change the NAS IP while in this "Corrupt Root" state.

"Corrupt root" means that the OS partition has somehow gotten damaged. I'd ignore the green checks on the drives - the system isn't booting from the disks at all, so that status is questionable.
The system normally boots from the disk 1, and it is possible that disk 2 is ok.. I suggest powering down, removing disk 1, and then restart. Use the boot menu option to skip the volume check. If that works, back up your data right away. If it fails, then you could try connecting one of the disks to a Windows PC (either with SATA or a usb adapter/dock), and see if R-linux for Windows can access the files. https://www.r-studio.com/free-linux-recovery/
If that also fails, then you can either try Raid Recovery software (R-Studio or ReclaiMe for instance), or you can use paid support (my.netgear.com). Netgear offers a data recovery service, but it is possible that they can resolve your issue without it.

You recommend removing a disk. I'm not 100% (it's been a long time) but I seem to recall that the drive may have been set up in Raid0 which, to my knowledge, would prevent me from recovering any data off the second disk. Is that right?
Regarding the R-Linux/R-Studio, would those softwares be able to recover information from two disks attached to a computer (e.g. through SATA or USB) but not to the original Raid controller in the enclosure?
Is it possible to connect to the ReadyNAS enclosure and access the file system via USB?

If you are running RAID-0, then you do need both disks to recover the data. Also, R-linux for Windows won't work, because it doesn't support RAID. You'd either need R-Studio or ReclaiMe, and you'd need both disks in the PC.

There actually is no RAID controller, your NAS uses software raid. However, R-Studio should be able to assemble the array in the correct order.

No.
If you are skilled with linux (CLI commands) it is possible to boot the system in tech support mode and manually mount the array. But if you don't already know linux, now is not the best time to learn it. There's less risk if you use paid support.
