I Have a ReadyNAS Pro6 running 6.5.1. Last night I had a power outage and when the NAS came back up I had an error message saying it couldn't detect the disks. I've had this before and going into boot loader and re-installing the OS has fixed it. So I did this and now when it boots I can't see my volume and I have a message saying to remove inactive volumes.
I will email my logs in

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 6 - Volume has disapeared
I emailed my ReadyNAS logs as per http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21543/~/how-do-i-send-all-logs-to-a-readynas-forum-mod...
However, I got a bounce back saying this (I removed actual email addresses)
Concentrix Secure Email Gateway has blocked the following message: Message: B57c22d730000.000000000001.0001.mml Date: 8/28/2016 From:xxxx@xxxxxxxxx To:xxxxxxxx@concentrix.com;xxxxxxxx@concentrix.com; xxxxxx@concentrix.com; xxxxxx@concentrix.com Subject: ReadyNAS Pro 6 - Volume has disapeared xxx@xxxxxxx is not allowed to send to the intended recipient(s) as defined on Concentrix Email and Information Exchange Policy.

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 6 - Volume has disapeared
Did a moderator request the logs? If so, does it seem possible that the mod requesting them had one of the rejected email addresses?

The address is forwarded to a group, and clearly the distribution list is a bit stale.
More importantly, if no one requested your logs I don't think anyone will look at them - especially it you didn't put someone's username in the subject line (with a link to the thread in the email body).
FWIW, I don't work for Netgear and probably am not the right person to look into your issue.

Hi john_h1,
I got your PM and responded to it.

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 6 - Volume has disapeared
Thanks mdgm,
Just to update the thread in case someone else has the same problem.
mdgm thinks there is an issue with the file system on my NAS and recommended I attempt to boot into volume read-only mode. It would appear that the ReadyNAS Pro 6 does not have that boot mode available http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21107/~/how-do-i-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-readynas-u...
So pending some other way I might be able to access the volume, it may not be recoverable 😞
I do have the really important stuff backed up, but the loss of the volume will still hurt.

Re: ReadyNAS Pro 6 - Volume has disapeared
You could try the skip volume check option. I think that does volume read-only on legacy systems that are running OS6 as we don't have skip volume check for OS6.

Skip volume check didn't bring the Volume back.
anything else I could possibly give a go?
