ReadyNAS Ultra 2
Hello, sorry for my bad English!
I bought a ReadyNAS Ultra2, which was running fine!
But then I had to factory reset it, because I planned on using it another place.
I logged in to the NAS and made a factory reboot from the WebUI.
But then things started to get wierd.
The device wont boot up properly now.
Then i tried factory resetting it from the device itself, by following this guide:
http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu
But when i turn on the device, the following LEDS are static on:
POWER
ACT
LED1
LED2
But if i try resetting it from the device itself, i can find it using RAIDiator where it gets an IP and all is good.
But i can only press "Setup".
So when i do that, and choose to make a new RAID config with 2 x 2TB discs in RAID 1. After that it is saying "installing" and thats good. After 1-2 minutes RAIDiator drops the connection the the NAS, and then i cannot connect to it again, unless i reset it(factory).
Any thoughts of what I can do?
I've uploaded some images of the NAS and the LEDS here:

Re: ReadyNAS Duo V2
You have an ultra 2, which is not a duo at all.
Did you use the ultra/pro instructions in the boot menu? The NAS will not be reachable for a while during the reset process. How long are you waiting?
Another approach is to remove the disks, and delete the partitions on a PC. Then reinsert them and power up the NAS.

Re: ReadyNAS Duo V2
Ah, thanks for that input.
And yes, I tried using the instructions for the Ultra 2. Luckily for me it is the same as the Duo V2 according to:
http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu
I tried waiting for atleast 8 hours. Even 18 hours the first time.
And I also tried to take both disks and deleted the disks entirely. But still no luck.
Thank you for your reply! 🙂

Re: ReadyNAS Duo V2
Maybe try again, with only one disk inserted?

Re: ReadyNAS Duo V2
Hm, still not working.
Tried "Factory Reboot" the device, and then go to RAIDiator and press "Setup".
Then i picked the fixed size and said it should not create any RAID (The setting: None).
I'll leave it for some hours and have a look again later tonight. 🙂

Re: ReadyNAS Duo V2
Hello again!
I tried letting it stand for the night. Though it doesen't seem to have worked. The POWER button is lit up, and the DISK 1 LED is lit up.
(Note that I took out the second disk.)
Any ideas what I could do?

Do another factory reset but this time choose RAID-0.

Hm, still not working. I tried it for 3 hours ago, still no sign of it.
And it's the same as before, i can see it in RAIDiator, but when I click setup and configure it, it disappears, after it configured the device.

Re: ReadyNAS Ultra 2
Did you buy the ultra 2 new?
If so, contact Netgear support.

Re: ReadyNAS Ultra 2
Fixed. As I suspected a file on the internal flash was corrupt. So I extracted the firmware onto the internal flash and checked to make sure the files on the internal flash were not corrupt. Triggered another factory default. Should work now.
