My NAS now reports 13T. I have 6 x 3T, so I think that's correct, rounded. It should be a little more than 13T.

Your usable capacity is the sum of the capacities of all your drives except the largest one, so in your case that's 5 x 3000000000000 bytes = 15000000000000 bytes.

Divide by (1024 x 1024 x 1024 x 1024) to convert from the drive manufacturers' power-of-10 TB to the power-of-2 TiB displayed by the NAS as "TB": 13.6424205 TB.

Deduct a little (2% or so) for RAID overhead; that leaves 13.3695721 TB.

So, yeah, the 13TB reported by the NAS is correct. Congratulations on the successful upgrade.

One more question.....is it worth adding more memory? I haven't cracked it open to see how difficult that would be, but I've built my own computers for 25 years, so I think I can handle it.

I think it's worthwhile; lots of addons will benefit from the addition. Replacing the RAM in the NAS is no harder than replacing the RAM in any other computer. The NAS has two DIMM slots; if you want 8GB, Amazon's selling the 2x4GB pair of DIMMs that are in my NAS for $185: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ZG20C6. If 4GB is enough for you, they're selling one 4GB module for $109 or a 2x2GB pair for $65.

What's the spec on the RAM? I might actually have some laying around from previous upgrades.
