ReadyNAS alert: Volume Warning - looks like a full root volume
I'm receiving ReadyNAS warnings stating:
Less than 30% of volume media's capacity is free. NETGEAR recommends that you add capacity to maintain current performance levels. Continuous protection snapshots will be deleted when volume free space is less than 5%.
In looking at the following solved topic, I'm sure it is the root volume that is full based on my btrfs.log
My question is what I do to resolve the capacity issue. How do I fix?
I have a ReadyNAS516 running the newest firmware v6.6.1
Thanks.

Re: ReadyNAS alert: Volume Warning - looks like a full root volume
The message is referring to the data volume.
How much of the volume capacity are you using?
Are there any apps installed?
If it is a similar problem it'll probably require remote access.

Re: ReadyNAS alert: Volume Warning - looks like a full root volume
If btsizer has checked btrfs.log and the data volume is less than 70% full then it could well be the root volume.
If it is the root volume it can be fixed using SSH. It's a matter of determining what's using lots of space of the root volume and then dealing with it appropriately.

Re: ReadyNAS alert: Volume Warning - looks like a full root volume
That's very conclusive. You're using close to 3GB of the 4GB capacity of the root volume

Re: ReadyNAS alert: Volume Warning - looks like a full root volume
Is there a utility I can run that allows me to care for disk utilization? Should I be attempting something along the lines of balancing data volumes?
I can do some searches for command line root cleanup but anything you can suggest would be helpful to get me started.
Thanks.

Re: ReadyNAS alert: Volume Warning - looks like a full root volume
Just found this KB:
Scrubbing
Defrag
Balancing
I'm going to back up the entire NAS and then take the storage offline and go through the process of cleaning everything up.
