ReadyNAS inaccessible after changing IP address

I changed the IP address of ReadyNAS 3138 (and a 2120) as part of moving my office to a new location.  Previously shared folders are inaccessible now.

Both are on firmware 6.10.2

The 3138 is supposed to share a single folder as NFS datastore to VMware hosts.

The 2120 is supposed to share three folders via SMB for file sharing.

Browsing on the 2120, the files are all there.  Nothing can get to them.

On the 3138, I cannot re-add the shared folder to the VMware hosts.  The hosts and NAS are in the same subnet, so there's no routing issues going on.  I've double and triple checked the IP, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS settings on all sides.  The NAS just isn't responding to anything.  I did update the allowed hosts on the NFS share with the new IP addresses of the VMware hosts.

Likewise for the 2120.  It is in the same subnet as a few other Windows file servers.  I can access them just fine.  I get nothing from the NAS.

Admin interfaces to both work without issue.  It's just the file sharing that is completely broken.

Thanks in advance for any insight or suggestions!

Re: ReadyNAS inaccessible after changing IP address

I was able to connect the 3138 to the hosts by using the IP address.  VMware must be caching the old IP address somewhere - VMware KB to clear the DNS cache clearly doesn't work.

Attempting to connect to the 2120 via IP address still doesn't work.

The device can't reboot through the admin interface after the firmware update Liteblue.

Have you tried entering windows credentials (via the windows credential manager) for the IP address?

When attempting to connect via IP, I do get prompted for credentials.  When I enter my domain username and password, it immediately fails (it's not timing out, it's seemingly being rejected), and asks again.

Did you enter them with the Windows Credential Manager (as I suggested).

You could also try running cmd and entering

net use * /delete /y
net use t: \\nas-ip-address\data /user:admin nas-admin-password

using the real IP address and NAS admin password of course.  (Also substitute your volume name for "data" if you are using flexraid).  Be careful on the typing - particularly on spaces and the slash direction.

The first command terminates any open SMB sessions, the second attempts to map the NAS data volume to drive letter T (which requires NAS admin credentials).

Re: ReadyNAS inaccessible after changing IP address

Figured it out.

I had to update the Accounts > Authentication section with the updated IP address of a domain controller (can't authenticate against a domain controller that you can't find!).  It all seems to be working now.

Cheers all who posted!  Just having some other people to bounce ideas around helps.
