ReadyNAS shutdown script

My own ReadyNAS has gotten old (RN312) by now, but in running my own backup solution with rsync using NAS as a remote file server, I have found manual shutdown of NAS via command-line (after waking it up with WOL) to be always a nagging issue. I have a working script (in Bash) which I thought I'd share for those in similar situations. I coded this up based on the information gathered from the past forum threads, cited in the References section below.
