Pre upgrade to Windows 8.1 I was successfully running ReadyNASRemote v1.6.5.22 with my ReadyNAS 102. Now every time I login to Windows I'm getting an "Initialization Failed" "Error code: -3" pop-up.

I tried uninstalling & re-installing with no luck. The uninstall seamed to leave most of old files in the Program Files / NETGEAR ReadyNAS folder too. Also I noticed the leaf network adapter was removed from the device manager.
Can anyone recommend a fix or work around? Or do I need to wait for an official Netgear update?
Still no go. The re-install crashes when the software tries to install a new Leaf Network Adapter. No luck trying a few things including the following:
- Installing as admin - Re-install in safe mode - installing in compatibility modes, Win7, Win XP. - Manually deleting files and changing registry settings. - Manually trying to install Leaf Network Adapter.
Finally I called Customer Support and opened a new case number. They said they will keep me posted, but who knows. If you depend on this software to communicate with your ReadyNAS, hold off on your Win 8.1 update, I guess it's a waiting game until ReadyNAS Remote is updated.
Solved! Installed as Administrator, when it was asking for for the leaf driver (fwleaf.sys), I noticed the path startet with d:... - changed this to c:... and then install ran perfectly. Everything up and running now.
Anyone else have any luck with this as yet? I've tried installing as admin, uninstalling, re-installing and so on.
My device manager shows the 'leaf networks adaptor' though says there is an error "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". As such, I can't get the 'leaf adaptor' to even show in my list of network adaptors under network connections.
I've even extracted the .exe and pulled the leaf.sys etc files and tried installing them manually - though still no luck 😞
Any other thoughts... I need to get this working asap...
