ReadyNas 1500 won't boot, blinking blue LED
1500 stopped letting me log in, authentication failures & password reset form didn't work. Put it in Restore OS mode by holding down the SYS button, booting, toggling to the corresponding LED and rebooting again. ReadyNAS powers on, blinking blue LED starts flashing -- its been doing so for 4 hours. I've restored the firmware before and it never even takes an hour.
Put the firmware on a flash drive with ReadyNAS_x86_USB_Flash_Recovery-4.2.12.zip data placed on it (using usbrecovery.exe), booted with flash drive in USB port, holding down the power button for 20 seconds as instructed by the website I obtained the .zip from -- it just shut down the ReadyNAS. Tried again holding down the Backup button instead, the LEDs never flicker.
EDIT: Should add that I cannot see it in RAIDar, I get the option to rescan and the help text.
Really need to get it back online. I'm fine with wiping the whole thing, data included, just need to know where to go from here.
Thanks!

Re: ReadyNas 1500 won't boot, blinking blue LED
Don't use USB Boot Recovery unless NetGear tech support requests you do so. There is a very clear warning about this. You can cause more problems using it, which I think you may have.
If the boot menu (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu) can be accessed then there is always a better alternative.
What version of RAIDiator were you running before doing the USB Boot Recovery?
What version of RAIDiator did you put on the USB key (you can check as the firmware will still be on the key)?

Powered down for a few minutes, was able to get it into OS recovery and flash the firmware. Thanks all.

So it's working now?
Please in future don't use USB Boot Recovery unless requested to by NetGear tech support.

jhancock, we are also interested to know if your issue is resolved? mdgm is correct, please do not use USB boot recovery unless specified by a Netgear Support Expert.
