Okay it started when I could no longer log in with the default username and password.
I had 1 day ago installed the latest hard drive in the bottom drawer. And was just finished splitting it up on X-raid setup.
Restarted Nas and it stopped at between 33% and 57%. Preferably of 55%. Tested memory and hard drives in the boot menu. And got nothing.
Have the latest OS 6.6.1. And installed recently HDD Number 6. Type WD Red 6T in X raid. I've mostly used it plex and saving storage for my PCs.
When i booted opp the NAS, I got up on the screen
Loading krenel........
Loading initrd.gz..........ready
[ 0.988639] [drm:intel_set_pch_fifo_underrun_reporting] *ERROR* uncleared pch fifo underrun on pch transcoder A
[ 0.988641] [drm:intel_pch_fifo_underrun_irq_handler] *ERROR* PCH transcoder A FIFO underrun
[ 6.849790] sd 10:0:0:0: [sdg] no caching mode page found
[ 6.855268] sd 10:0:0:0: [sdg] assuming drive chache: write through.
And it stopped i boot screen at "mdadm service"
And later i got a repeat of:
[ 68.064139] NMI watchdog: Bug: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 22s! [kworker/u8:8:989]
And this repeted for some time with same message.
So after some reading at the forum and talked with a (more than me) IT expert friend of mine.
I tryed to use the "To create the Recovery Tool USB drive" way with the 6.6.1 OS.
It when down hill from there on.
On screen:
And after a few seconds then it turns off only. Have tried 3 different USB sticks. With the same result.
And now i cant even go to the boot meny.
Only gets:
Now I'm just depressed and are left with a 2000 Euro wind blowing machine. Have I just lost everything I had left on the machine.
Sorry my bad English. I'm from Norway. Thanks for all the help I can get,
Regards Lennart

Your 4GB root volume was filled by MySQL database(s).
Also you ran into an issue that can be encountered if apps are installed before updating the firmware that can lead to apps and other packages being unable to be installed/updated. That issue is now fixed in 6.7.0 Beta, which I've put on your system.

Re: ReadyNas 516 stopping at 31% or 53% or 57%
Well your friend was wrong. USB Boot Recovery only helps if the problem is corrupt firmware on the internal flash. If that's not the problem then if anything you'll only make the situation worse.
Looks like the configuration file for the boot loader could be corrupt.
What happens if you type TechSupport using a USB keyboard and hit enter?

Re: ReadyNas 516 stopping at 31% or 53% or 57%
Today found the NAS suddenly found out that it could find the boot system.
I pulled out the harddrive at the bottom. since that is the last big thing I have done to the NAS
Im back at:
MBR
boot:
Loading krenel........
Loading initrd.gz..........ready
[ 0.939318] [drm:intel_set_pch_fifo_underrun_reporting] *ERROR* uncleared pch fifo underrun on pch transcoder A
[ 0.9393320] [drm:intel_pch_fifo_underrun_irq_handler] *ERROR* PCH transcoder A FIFO underrun
[ 6.860753] sd 10:0:0:0: [sdg] no caching mode page found
[ 6.866243] sd 10:0:0:0: [sdg] assuming drive chache: write through
And Im at 64% and its showing "mdadm.service"
Before i startet up the NAS again. I looked in the bios. If some thing looked funny. Is it correct that it is 2 usb booting options?
I changed nothing in the BIOS. Just wanted to see if it found all of the printer hard disk and possibly boot up disk. The flash and usb drive.
Is it correct that it is 2 usb booting drives options?
I dont know where you want me to type Techsupport.
For now I leave it to morrow to se if it moves beyond 64%.
Im sorry im slow to respond. Long days at work now.

Re: ReadyNas 516 stopping at 31% or 53% or 57%
Don't change any BIOS settings
When did you add the disk at the bottom? Was it blank i.e. unformatted when you added it to the NAS?
I've sent you a PM.
