ReadyNas 600 crashed
I just got an old ReadyNas 600, on sticker model says RN06O1000, it was dead and had no hard drives !
I love old tech and decided to take a time to look at !
After few researches it came up as a Infrant technologies ReadyNas 600.
After few diagnostics, was only a bad connection on power cables, and the CF card was corrupt !
I found the image on netgear site and downloaded
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RND2110/RAIDiator-Sparc-4.1.16.zip
Burn the image to a 2gb CF card using Win32DiskImager
https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/latest/download
Installed 4x 500Gb WD drives on it, and now it boots and it's initializing disks ! YAY !
Downloaded Netgear RAIDar, and can see the NAS on my network, and says Initializing disks , it shows a weird model IT71004-D2, but looks like is working !
This is a little tip, for those who love to see those sweet dinossaurs back to life !

Re: ReadyNas 600 crashed
A quick update !
I had few problems starting the unit with the 4.1.16 version starting from baremetal, so I decided to burn the version 4.1.13 on the CF, and start with only 2 disks !
Also upgraded the memory on the motherboard from 256Mb to 512Mb DDR 400Mhz, I'm not sure if it will bring any speed gain but, I have pleny of those memory laying around here.
With the 4.1.13 was a breeze, 2 hard drives up and runing in about 40 minutes, after the unit initialize, format and do the raid 1 config, then I updated to the version 4,1,16 on the admin page !
Shutt of the unit and connected the other 2 HD's, unit rebooted found the HD's and started to rebuild, I left doing overnight, then this morning , everything was done, and I have a "SPANKING BRAND NEW" NAS ! 😄 😄
