ReadyNas RNDP6000 power problems. Can I migrate my 6 disks to a new nas and if so to which??
Hi there:
My ReadyNAS RNDP6000 containing 6 disks has stopped working (can NOT be powered on any more - also after removing disks and pushing reset button). I assume failure of the power supply.
My Q:
Can I migrate the disks (I know exact alignment) to a newer NAS? Or do I have to get a used RNDP6000 (I am in PDX - so if there are some local guys to help I would appreciate).
If I can migrate the disks - which wuld be a compatiple model?
Thanks
Joe

You can't directly migrate the disks, but you can mount them in an OS6 X86 NAS - which will let you copy the data off. The procedure is here: http://kb.netgear.com/29957/ReadyNAS-Migrating-disks-from-RAIDiator-4-2-to-ReadyNAS-OS-6-x86
You could try a new PSU - there's a thread here you might read through: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-Hardware-Compatibility/ReadyNAS-Pro-Replace-CPU-Fan/td-p/9... It'd be an inexpensive fix.
