Readyas NV+4000. Need to change I.P. address

Hi all.

Lhave a readynas NV4000.

Ive a desktop running windows 10 pro.  also, a laptop, running windows 7.

Originally running the nv4000 on windows 7.  Then changed the IP to run on win10.

That took forever to sort out, but was happy with myself for achieving this.  Now Im restricted to accessing my old laptop with windows 7.  Im running into huge grief, attempting to change the IP back to use in win7.

the current  IP is 192.168.1.250 (done to use in win10)

I cannot remember the old IP I had in win7, nor how to get there.

Hopefully someone here can help, please.

thanks

Stephen

There was no need to change the IP address in the first place for Win10.  Something else you did must have restored access.  So you can just leave the IP address alone.

Is the NV+ connected to your router, or perhaps an ethernet switch?

Or is the NAS ethernet directly connected to the PC's ethernet port?

I'm a bit confused by what you have said.  Are you runing the NAS hardwired to the PC's rather than on a network and have set a static IP address on each device but they are not all on the same subnet?  If that is the case, then you need to change the static IP on each of the computers to 192.168.1.xxx.  Google should help you determine how to do that on each.

On the other hand, if you do have them all on a network, then perhaps all your shortcuts or drive mappings just no longer point to the right NAS IP and you need to delete and re-create them.

Hi and thanks for your input.

I should prefice I am not a computer person as such.  I purchased the nas box, to store stuff.  I started the nas box with my win7 laptop.  I was told I'd need to change the IP when I bought the desktop win10 pc.  As I stated eventualy got the them to work.

At all times, on both win10 pc and win7 laptop, the nas box was connected by a cable.  I presume its referred to as an ethernet cable.

Also, Ive tried to go to the netgear login admin site but cannot get the page.  No idea why not.

        Again, thanks for your input.

        regards stephen.
