Readynas 102 - TFTP_REQ

I have a Readynas 102.  It's basically new.  Was turned on for a bit, then stored in it's box until now.  I turn it on and it all boots up but I get a flashing power button.

I can see the device on the network but I am unablet to connect to it.

I use RAIDar and it connects  Status is TFTP_REQ

Troubleshooting steps

  1. confrim via a PC that I can see the HDD this appears to be working can see some patitions on it,
  2. perform a factory reset as per https://kb.netgear.com/22892/How-do-I-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-ReadyNAS-102-202-212-or-312
  3. peform the steps outlined in the usb recovery article https://kb.netgear.com/29952/How-do-I-use-the-USB-Recovery-Tool-on-my-ReadyNAS-OS-6-storage-system

I have nothing  other than the ethernet cable pluged in.

I was looking at this post and it appears that someone was able to assist but the solution does not seem super clear.  https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-ReadyNAS-Users-General/RN102-TFTP-REQ/td-p/1350888

I would really appreciate any assitance to get this up and running.

Re: Readynas 102 - TFTP_REQ

Is it still under warranty (3 years for the original purchaser)?

Re: Readynas 102 - TFTP_REQ

Hi hophead,

Welcome to the Community!

The TFTP_REQ is a boot mode. Based on what you have tried already, this is likely a faulty chassis.

If your device is still under warranty, you may contact support for warranty replacement.
