Readynas 4312 stops responding on 10Gig
I have a 4312 at work with fiber SFP's.
We have a 1Gig port on 10.11.0.x works fine.
We have the two 10Gig ports bonded in active passive failover on 10.11.3.x
For some reason both 10Gig ports stopped responding to http/s and SMB yet is still pingable. They have been working about 3 weeks without issue. Just stopped the other day.
We've unbonded the ports and assigned different IP's two each 10Gig interface. Only one of them will ping and neither will repsond to http/s or SMB.
Ports on the switch are not tagged, no trunking. Have tried both ways. still doesn't work.
Need some help with this.

Which firmware are you running?

NB: A ReadyNas is not an excuse not to have a backup. Fire, theft, multiple disk failures, other hardware failure, floods, user negligence etc. can all result in loss of data.

Re: Readynas 4312 stops responding on 10Gig
There were several networking issues with 6.9.0 that were fixed in 6.9.1. So maybe try updating to that.

Re: Readynas 4312 stops responding on 10Gig
Yeah part of this is my boss isn't buying that because it worked for about a month without issue
We've called support and honestly the guy was really pushing my boss' buttons with trying some really basic/obviously not the fix things to try.
I don't want to update the firmware because of the issue with SMB messing up that was happening in 6.9.0 on my 316 which is also happening in 6.9.1.
So would really like to get some help on this that's more "nuts and bolts" of the system rather than "try this and see what happens".
How difficult isn't it to make the NAS work with multiple interfaces on different subnets at the same time?

Re: Readynas 4312 stops responding on 10Gig
If you let me know the case number I can have that case reviewed.
Often it can be good to see if simple fixes such as updating the firmware resolve a problem like this (especially when there are known issues on the firmware currently being used) before moving onto advanced troubleshooting that may not be needed.

Re: Readynas 4312 stops responding on 10Gig
O.K. so you have updated to 6.9.1 and you're still working with support on this.

The official response from support
ReadyNAS doesn't support multiple gateways.
This should have been conveyed to us within the first hour of talking to support.

I'd like to clarify this a bit.
You were using 10.11.0.x and 10.11.3.x, correct? I assumed that meant a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 for both interfaces Is that the case?
I believe you can connect the NAS to two different networks (which a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask would accomplish). But if the subnet mask were 255.255.0.0, then I don't think that would work well.

Re: Readynas 4312 stops responding on 10Gig
Our management network is a /23 (255.255.254.0)
Server network is a /24 (255.255.255.0)
We fixed it by putting static routes on the network
