Readynas Duo v2 how to recover files?

Hey guys!

Dad tried to move all the files in the nas by using cut out option, when he saw it would take a long time he pressed cancel, which lead to all files dissapearing. I belive the mirrordrive has all the data on it, dad has not made any backups or anything, the drive is only 2 days old. Is there any way to recover the data?

That doesn't sound like an action that should have deleted the info. How are you trying to access the data? Was he trying to to move it to the ReadyNAS of from the ReadyNAS?

He marked everything and chose the "cut out", then he entered another file on the nas, he saw it would take long time and pressed cancel, the data then dissapeared -.-

Thank you for the quick reply!

Which firmware are you running on it? What I am hoping for is you have a recycling bin or snapshot on the ReadyNAS that we could use to recover.

RAIDiator 5.3.5 if that is what you are asking for, i dont know about the snapshot and i dont think he has a recycle bin nor did he delete the files so that they would go there :S

Re: Readynas Duo v2 how to recover files?

The recycling bin can catch files removed from the ReadyNAS even if they weren't specifically deleted. The snapshot holds an old image of how the data was prior to changes. I would suggest going in and checking both of these on the Duo v2 directly to see if they maintained the data.
Other than these suggestions I am unable to think of anything else that might help. Hopefully someone else has some ideas.

You will need to log into the ReadyNAS with the admin credentials to check the snapshot. How do you currently access the data? It should be the same way just alternate login. You can also try going directly the the ip address of the ReadyNAS

I access it through entering the ip number in the URL field. There is nothing under the backup tab in readynas, however there seems to be 200mb stored on the storage disk, the "redundant" one
