Readynas duo never gets ready

Trying to start up my (old) Readynas DUO but it will never get ready. When I starting the device the lamp is blinking, and will never stop. I have been waiting for more than 24 hours. I have also tried to do a OS backup (holding resetbuttom for 5 sek, waiting for the disklamps to flash) No action!

I have also tried to to a full factory reset (holding reset buttom for ca 25 sek, wating for the disklaps flashing 2 times)

After that I also have waited more than 12 hours.

What is wrong?

Great.  That suggests that the startup issue might be related to the disks.

So perhaps test the disks in a windows PC with vendor diags (lifeguard for wdc, seatools for seagate).  Or try starting the NAS with only one of the disks installed.

Re: Readynas duo never gets ready

Are you seeing one of these LED patterns?

LED blink behavior for 2 disk systems is three quick blinks of all disk LEDs and the backup LED, followed by a 1 second delay, followed by a number of slow blinks.  The number of slow blinks will be the error code.

Current error codes:
1 – Vendor mismatch
2 – No disks detected
3 – Bad contents on root partition of disks
4 – Flash error
5 – Unsupported RAID configuration

Also try installing RAIDar on a PC - if the NAS is on the network it can report status.

Re: Readynas duo never gets ready

When the nas is booting up its flashing fast in about 2-3 minutes after that the flashing changes to a slightly slover pace. But no, patterns what I can see.

I'm using mac os 10.10, Cant find then nas on Raidar. Have no PC.

Re: Readynas duo never gets ready

Your mac is a PC, just running a different OS. Smiley Happy

You'll find RAIDar for mac here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20684/~/readynas-downloads#raidar?cid=wmt_netgear_orga...

Is there any data on the Duo that you care about?

Re: Readynas duo never gets ready

Try removing the disks and looking again with RAIDar.  If the duo is functional, RAIDar should find it and report a "no disks" status.
