ReclaiMe costs about the same as Netgear recovery. One difference is that with ReclaiMe you can see what it thinks it can recover before you pay for it.
what kind of sync would you guys recommend to backup the Netgear to an external RAID on the same LAN? Rsync or is there something graphical and easier ?
I use the built-in backup jobs (with rsync as the protocol) to back up my main NAS to other ReadyNAS. The built-in backup jobs provide a graphical interface for rsync, and they can be used with other NAS or linux servers - they aren't locked to Netgear.
I have also used robocopy scripts to back up the ReadyNAS to Windows systems. Robocopy is built into newer versions of windows, and it does provide robust and incremental copying.
