Repeated'disk dead' failures that weren't, ReadyNAS Ultra 4+

I've had 4 instances of my Readys Ultra 4+ reporting a disk as dead - months apart.

Every time it turned out that the disk was NOT dead, and reinserting it carefully made it magically spring back to life and resync.
Nothing in the logs (as viewed through FrontView) suggests any problem with the drives. After reviving, no SMART problems are reported.
At least two different disks were involved in the 4 incidents.

I'm running the latest firmware, but the incidents span at least two different firmware versions.

Any help is appreciated.

What model drives? What's the drive firmware version. (can check under Status > Health > SMART+) in Frontview.

Thanks for following up.

At least 2 of the disks involved in the incidents are Seagate drives:

Model: ST2000DL003-9VT166
Serial: <REMOVED BY MODERATOR>
Firmware: CC3C

It is possible that ALL my incidents involved just those 2 drives, but I'm not sure.

That disk needs a firmware update. See http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=64510

Thank you, I really appreciate your help - would not have occurred to me that a disk's firmware could be the problem.
