SMB button grey - "not pressed", samba is down after update to os 6.5

Which services are you running under System > Settings > Services ?
Which apps do you have installed?
Which firmware did you upgrade from?
Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

Looks like this system has been through a lot of firmware updates, you've downgraded from 6.5.0 back down to 6.4.2 and then up again and you've been playing around in SSH.
Do you have a backup?
I'm seeing lots of these messages:
