Scheduled power-off delayed

Firmware 6.2.5

ReadyNAS 104

Firmware reinstalled

There is a back job scheduled between 01:00 and 07:00

The power off is schedued for 08:00 to 00:00 (so the backup is outside of that time.)

The system will not shutdown and the log only shows the entry

System: Scheduled power off was delayed.

This all used to workr on previous firmware revisions.

Is this a known bug ?

Re: Scheduled power-off delayed

Just SSH'd into the box and checked /var/log/frontview/backup there was a ststus file for an old no longer existing backup that was saying INPROGRESS. I have removed this file and restarted the NAS - I am waiting to see if it will now shutdown

Re: Scheduled power-off delayed

I'd say your backup job is still running;

"There is a back job scheduled between 01:00 and 07:00"

This doesn't mean that the backup job will stop running at 07:00, what it really means is "Don't try to start the backup job after 07:00".

Can you check the logs to see when the backup job really finished and see if it's after the scheduled shutdown time?

Re: Scheduled power-off delayed

Hi,

Nope the backup job finishes in usually less than 1 hour as it is just a delta of changes.

It has always finsihed well before 3am for the last few months.

So the job is completed well before the scheuled shutdown time.

This system used to work as configured for many months.

I suspect this issue was introduced in the last OS update.

Re: Scheduled power-off delayed

Removal of status file that still had in progress - has fixed the probelm. the system now powers on, does its backup and shutdowns at the configured time.

Case Closed.
