Slow network
I have an RN104 and an RN214 on the same network (into the same router) as the rest of our devices.
When I have the NAS up and ready on the network, the internet access is really slow (I imagine the extra traffic is causing this).
If I were to add a GB switch to the mix, would that speed things up?
Thanks

Re: Slow network
Using a switch would keep all local ethernet traffic from touching the router, but that won't solve anything if the ReadyNAS are actually using internet bandwidth.
What router are you using?
Are the ReadyNAS accessing the internet regularly (is stuff like transmission, or maybe plex and readycloud active).

Re: Slow network
I have readycloud running on the 214 but not on the 104. The router (modem) is the DSL modem I received with my AT&T internet account.
A Netgear 5 port unmanaged switch is on order (GS105NA).

Re: Slow network
If you remove the ethernet cable from the RN214, does the problem disappear? If not, try the same test with the RN104.

Re: Slow network
Disabled ReadyCloud. Network speeded right back up again.
Now to figure out how to run it without interfering with the network quite so much...
