Snapshots disappeared after reboot

I'm reporting an "incident" - maybe user error or maybe a problem:

 

After rebooting my NAS, both the System/Overview and System/Volumes screens showed no space allocated to snapshots, but the previously used  snapshot space was now included in the "Data" total figure. From the "Shares" screen, the snapshots were still listed (by quantity and date/time) against each respective share. After a bit of looking around I noticed that the Quota box was unticked on the volume properties/summary screen. I'm pretty sure I didn't untick it - is there any way quotas could have been turned off by any other means?

Using OS6.10.3.
