Static IP changes Admin Password
I have a ReadyNAS 102 running the 6.2.4 firmware. If I set set my unit to use a static IP Address, when it goes to reconnect to the web page I get the prompt to log back in I provide the username and password and all I get is the same prompt for UN and PW. If I hit cancel at the prompt it takes me to the recover password page which I can fill out but that returns a message that says password recovery failed. The unit seems to be on the network and running fine I and I can get to the shares I just can't get to the webpage or SSH. I can do an OS reset and get back into the webpage fine with the the default UN and PW, leave the UN and PW at the default, change the IP from DHCP to static same thing, no longer able to hit the webpage or SSH, loaded RAIDar and it finds the unit fine both DHCP and after the change to static.
Any help or insight into this would be appreciated.
Thanks
-Tad

Re: Static IP changes Admin Password
What static address are you assigning, and what dhcp address is your router supplying?
Does your router support address reservation? If so, that is a better way to go.

Re: Static IP changes Admin Password
DHCP is assigning 192.168.51.236/24, I am trying to statically assign 192.168.51.182/24, the 192.168.51 subnet is exclusive to our small datacenter, and it's not a router it's an actual DHCP/DNS server and yes I can do reservations and will try that as a work around. The larger question though is why does the ReadyNAS lose track of it's admin password if assigned a static IP?

Re: Static IP changes Admin Password
Sorry, I was imagining a home/SoHo deployment. I've have thought that an RN102 would be under powered for most datacenter applications.
It shouldn't be losing track of its admin password, and of course your static assignment should work perfectly. I use address reservation myself, so I haven't tried static addresses for quite a while.
