Sync shares between two Readynas
I am hoping to find an option to sync a sharefolder between two ReadyNAS units in separate locations. (one folder two places) Since I am uncertain how to ask this question, I am hoping someone can help me clarify my intentions.
Thank you

Re: Sync shares between two Readynas
If you mean one-way sync, then rsync over ssh is one way. https://kb.netgear.com/29929/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Setting-up-a-backup-job-with-rsync-over-SSH
Resilio sync might be an option for two-way sync.

Re: Sync shares between two Readynas
Just to be clear, .... I have an RN312, and RN314. I would like to store files on a share on the RN312, and have the same files on the RN314. The RN312 is on a local network, and the RN314 is remote.

The link I posted above tells you how to back up the RN312 share to your RN314.

How do I determine Host and Login information?

Re: Sync shares between two Readynas
Normally you'd set up a ddns name for the remote router (for instance noip.com), and use that ddns name for the hostname.
Login credentials are up to you to set on the remote NAS.

Another option is to use a VPN to connect them. I use ZeroTier.

SandShark - Sorry, just saw this
Can you explain "use VPN"?
Thanks

Re: Sync shares between two Readynas
"VPN" -> virtual private network. This technology lets you join a remote device to your home network (or join two networks together).
The ZeroTier app lets you do this on the NAS.

The ZeroTier app lets you do this on the NAS.
And to be more precise, lets you join it in a secure way. Do a forum search on ZeroTier and you'll find a post from me about it as well as one from NASTools annoucing the app.
