Time Machine won't free up space to make way for new backups.
Hi there,
No support from Netgear on this now, so I'm hoping someone here can help.
I've tried backing up to both a bespoke Time Machine user account as well as a shared one on ReadyNAS 626 but they just fill up instead of deleting the oldest backups to make way for new ones as Time Machine is supposed to.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil.

Re: Time Machine won't free up space to make way for new backups.
The handling of the free space is done by the Time Machine itself, not by the underlaying storage system. No NAS specific difference.

Thank you for your reply. That's really appreciated. Unfortunately, it doesn't get me closer to resolving things. Do you have personal experience of ReadyNAS allowing Time Machine to remove old backups when the allocated space is full?
