UPS sharing is lost in OS6.5

Hi,

I have a Cyberpower OR1000 connected via USB to a RN516. A ReadyNAS PRO4 (RAIDiator 4.2.28) shares the UPS via the IP address of the RN516. That has always worked fine until I upgraded the RN516 to the latest OS 6.5.1.

After downgrading to a previous version (now 6.4.1) it works fine again.

Thanks for checking into this issue so I can upgrade my RN516 to the latest FW.

I have two v1 NAS (4.1.14 firmware) monitoring my RN102 (6.5.1 firmware).  I also use a cyberpower UPS.

As a work-around you could try reversing the monitoring (connecting the cyberpower to the pro, and monitoring the pro on the RN516).

That might work, but the 516 serves as main backup server for the office and media server. The PRO4 contains backups of the media files and backups of the backups. The PRO4 doesn't need to be on all the time, it is also slower and has smaller capacity.

Thanks anyway.

I wasn't suggesting switching the roles of the two NAS, just the UPS monitoring (connect the USB cable to the pro, and set the 516 to monitor the pro over the network).

The speed/capacity/usage of the two NAS really doesn't matter, what matters is whether the pro4 is on all the time or not.  If it is on all the time, then you can switch the monitoring, otherwise you can't.

Re: UPS sharing is lost in OS6.5

sorry for my late reply. Indeed, the RNPRO4 is only on Saturdays when we run an extra backup. So there's no solution changing the UPS monitoring.

Best solution would be that Netgear fixes this bug. It used to work fine.

I don't disagree there, though a very similar setup works for me (also running 6.5.1, with UPS monitoring on two v1 -4.1.15-T3 firmware- ReadyNAS).

You might try disabling and then re-enabling the remote UPS monitoring setting on the OS 6.5.1 NAS.

Disabling and enabling, or setup the whole thing from scratch didn't make a difference.

Thanks for your tips anyway.
