Ultra 2 Setup Problem
I am a newbie and received my new ReadyNAS ultra 2 today along with 2x Seagate ST2000DL003-9VT166 [1863 GB] drives puchased separately.
I placed the drives into the NAS, installed RAIDar and setup with Frontview.
When I run RAIDar, it shows a green light for both drives, but a yellow light for the volume status. When I mouse over the yellow light, it says: "Volume C: RAID Level X2, Not redundant. A disk failure will render this volume dead. 204 MB (0%) of 1846 GB used"
I did a system reboot and came across a windows saying "newly added disk has failed SMART test. Please check disk 2.
This is what Front view says;
Hostname: AndyNAS
Model: ReadyNAS Ultra 2 [X-RAID2]
Serial: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.2.17
Memory: 1024 MB [DDR3]
IPv4 address: 1: Not Connected
IPv4 address: 2: 192.168.0.12
Volume C: Online, X-RAID2, Single disk, 0% of 1846 GB used
I haven't a clue what's going on!
Any ideas?

Re: Ultra 2 Setup Problem
Can you boot unit successful without disk 2?
Your second drive cannot pass the SMART test that indicate this disk may in the bad condition(bad sectors or anything else),you might need connect this drive to the PC and check it using seagate tool.
