Ultra 4 Plus - Upgraded to OS6 (v6.10.2) = "Undefined Error" Messages

Well, I finally got round to upgrading my "ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus" to OS6 (v6.10.2) afte my new Samsung TV couldn't see PLEX.
Anyhow, backed up all my stuff and carried ou the update routine as stated on here somewhere.
However, if I select for instance, the "Shares" tab and then click on any of the user created shares, I get an "Undefined Error" message.
I also get "Undefined Error" when adding "New Shares".
I can choose to "Ignore" and seemingly, I can carry on as normal, but does anyone know how I can stop these error messages?
Cheers.

The two defaults are the same, so you can do it either from the web UI or the boot menu.
Well, I did a Factory Reset via the Boot Menu in the end.
Guess what, no difference.
Turns out it might be a add-on in Firefox causing it.
On searching, I came across a couple of threads with very similar issue and error message and it was thought it was either a Safari browser add-on or Amazon Cloud issue.
I don't use either, but it prompted me to disable all my add-ons/extensions in Firefox and enable them one at a time.
There was two or three that looked to be causing an issue:
1. Absolute Enable Right Click Copy
2. Enable-Selection
3. Another that I forgot the name of
Anyhow, seems to prevent those annoying error message boxes that left no trace in the ReadyNAS log.
Just a shame it's taken me 3 volume resyncs to find this out.
Thanks for your help though guys.

I'd first try an OS reinstall, and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then try a factory default and set it up again.

Thanks StephenB.
By OS install, do you mean to reinstall "R4toR6_v6.9.5" again?

No, he means an OS re-install via the boot menu. But frankly, since it seems like you didn't get very far setting up the new OS6 configuration, I'd go right to the Factory Default. Whatever didn't get created correctly may not be restored by the OS re-install.

Re: Ultra 4 Plus - Upgraded to OS6 (v6.10.2) = "Undefined Error" Messages
Cheers!
Something must've gone awry during the update sequence.
ISTR seeing and error during the "PREP4TOR601 x86.bin" installation, so tried it again and don't recall seeing the error the second time.
After which the installation of "R4toR6_6.9.5.bin" seemed to go OK.
Once installed
the ReadyNAS was able to update to the latest firmware from the "ReadyNAS System" page.
I'll go ahead and do a FR now, which I guess means the volume will have to be rebuilt, taking hours and hours?
Best to do it now though.
Thanks again.

Re: Ultra 4 Plus - Upgraded to OS6 (v6.10.2) = "Undefined Error" Messages
I've not not carried out a OS re-installation, but have done a factory reset.
As soon as the initial ReadyNAS wizard was finished, I got the following error (see attachment).
On a side note, any way to add a picture into a post on here?

Re: Ultra 4 Plus - Upgraded to OS6 (v6.10.2) = "Undefined Error" Messages
So a Factory Reset didn't get rid of the Undefined Error messages I was getting whilst navigating round the ReadyNAS portal.
So I carried out the following procedure to re-install the OS:
- Powered off the ReadyNAS system.
- Pressed and held the Reset button.
- Pressed the Power button to power on the ReadyNAS.
- Continued to press the Reset button until the status display screen showed the boot menu message.
- Pressed the Backup button to scroll through to the OS re-installation option.
- When the status display screen showed the OS re-installation mode, pressed and released the Reset button to confirm the boot menu selection.
When it booted back up, the front display showed the ReadyNAS was on v6.10.2.
Currently @ 0.96% resync.
So, I'm guessing an additional Factory Reset will not be required?
I hope I can get this annoying issue sorted, but I can't seem to find anyone who has had this specific problem.

So, are you saying there may have been something wrong with the installation of "PREP4TOR601 x86.bin"?
If so, is there any way to rectify/revert the system to try again?

Re: Ultra 4 Plus - Upgraded to OS6 (v6.10.2) = "Undefined Error" Messages
The Prep is just to keep you from having to do a factory default when you load the actual OS. so loading that a second time will do nothing. It may be the prep that didn't quite do the job, so you need a real factory default, or it may have just hiccupped during the default installation. But it sounds like something it's expecting to see (configuration file, subvolume or directory, database entry, who knows) just isn't there.

After re-installing the OS via the boot menu, I seem to only get the error message after enterring the IP address of the ReadyNAS (https://192.168.1.***) which opens the Admin page.
This Real Factory Default, I assume is done via the boot menu?
Is this different to the Perform Factory Default done via the Netgear ReadyNAS Admin page then?
Sorry for all the questions.
